Water

Spring Creek Tract Association (SCTA) owns and maintains the water system that supplies water to the 137 cabins in the tract. The system is supplied with ground water from 2 wells; there is one 80,000 gallon water tank, a reserve 15,000 gallon tank, 12 fire hydrants, over 3 miles of 8” diameter and smaller distribution pipe and services to all 137 cabins.

The water system is operated by a licensed water system operator under contract to SCTA and it is subject to federal, state and county regulations, monitoring and inspections. Maintenance and operation of the system is financed by cabin owners through the annual operating dues.

Much of the water system was installed in the 1950s and is approaching the end of its useful life. A major water system improvement project is underway and special annual assessments are being collected to finance the improvements.

Through 2017, the SCTA will have spent over $2.7 million dollars on improvements to the system.  These include:

  • completed engineering and design for the entire 5 year project,
  • having permits issued by all the involved agencies,
  • removing the concrete dam across a creek above SCT.  This dam created a reservoir that was used when the tract was supplied by surface water,
  • installing a new 80,000 gallon steel water tank
  • replacing the water control system with a state of the art electronic system which can be monitored remotely.

This Project has been completed!
